My first time going to New York was about two and a half years ago. I was an inexperienced traveler, I didn’t take any worthy pictures and wore hideous outfits. I mean this first picture, just look at me! Hideous! Where was my scarf?! Or my pretty beanie!? Where was my makeup!? And my hair?! What a nightmare.
Not to mention that my travel companion always takes horrible pictures. Proof: this pic is partially blurry and you can’t even see the whole building or skating rink!
We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, which is breathtakingly beautiful. It just “feels” like what you would expect a New York hotel to be.
The first night we visited Times Square and I went to my first Broadway Musical, Jersey boys. We found a club in the Meatpacking District and I was so lame I didn’t even notice the name of it. We were invited to a table by a group that had bottle service. My shoes were so uncomfortable that I ended up tripping on them and fell back and landed on their table. Drinks and bottles went everywhere! Nightmare.
We visited a few touristy places on Day 2 like the Rockefeller Center, Chinatown and Little Italy. That evening we caught a concert at Madison Square Garden. Such an impeccable venue! It’s huge and the building itself is beautiful! I felt pretty cool afterwards thinking “Wow! I sat on the second row of an amazing concert at Madison Square Garden!”
So, the whole reason for this post is because I am anxiously planning a trip to New York for my 34th birthday in December! Flights are booked and we’re spending four glorious days touring the city, where all our wildest dreams will come true! (Napoleon Dynamite) It has always been a dream of mine to visit in December so I can see the beauty of Christmastime there! We already have a list of things we want to do and what all we would like to see. Anyone have any special places we should visit?
I can not wait to be back in this beautiful city.
This was probably my favorite picture that I took on that trip. It captures just a small fraction of the immense city and overlooks Central Park.
